  1. Hi Cassandra,

Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, looking at your choice of two very unusual flowers. The 'corpse' flower sounds rather creepy, doesn't it? Because it has a foul smell, I'm not sure I ever want to see one! But how interesting that it can be so gigantic and is so rare!!

You've done an excellent job of creating a chart or DLO showing the differences and similarities between these 2 plants. Well done!

Have you ever been to Indonesia? It's a long distance from your home but I gather that there are a number of people living in Auckland who have emigrated from Indonesia. It sounds like a very fascinating country!

My daughter, Rachel, loves to travel and she has been to many countries in Asia. She enjoys seeing their ancient and sacred places, eating foods that are new to her, meeting new people. That's the gift of travel, isn't it?

I enjoy travelling to your beautiful country to visit with Rachel! And I think Hokey Pokey ice cream is the best - so travel rules, in my books!!

I hope you're having some fun outside this summer, having some adventures, and also enjoying doing these SLJ activities. I'll keep on reading your blog!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
