It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your super list of 10 animals and plants that you'd most like to save from extinction. It's a list with a good mix of both and you've explained well why you've chosen each one. Good for you!
I have a dog named Spirit myself so I'm also keen on protecting dogs! And I also love your choice of ferns as a plant that you'd like to protect. The ferns in your country are just beautiful and obviously very important symbols for New Zealand. So many of your teams have 'fern' in their name, don't they?
Ferns grow in Canada too, which is where I live. I particularly love some that I planted in our back garden as they remind me of a friend of mine who has since passed away. I think of her each time I see them as she used to have amazing gardens in her yard, with ferns covering the ground under her majestic trees.
I'm so glad that you're continuing to work on these activities during your holidays. The program ends soon but it looks like you'll get it completely done - wow!!!
